The terrifying thing is there really is very little difference between Andrew Blake and Charles Manson. Both were psychopaths who created cults around themselves by claiming to be receiving mystical messages via popular media properties – Manson claimed to be receiving mystical messages from the music of the Beatles, Andrew claimed to channel Hobbits and wizards. Fortunately, Blake himself didn’t order his followers to kill, although people did end up dead.
The more cults I learn about, the more I arrive at one conclusion: The "leaders" certainly are evil and the followers certainly didn't deserve what happened to them …. but …. they had to have been the kind of people who were going to be victimized one way or another. You don't just believe crazy things or follow crazy instructions without some kind of subconscious self-destruct mechanism in you.
